Support Mel & Family battle advanced breast cancer

  • Latest results

      12 September 2015

Yesterday I had my most recent scan results, it showed that the bone metastasis has pretty much gone and everything else is "stable". This is a huge turn around from 10 weeks ago when I was advised to "get my affairs in order" and was referred to hospice.

I am so grateful that my oncologist has me on an effective chemo finally but personally I give more credit to the Vit C infusions and having amazing positive people around me.

I can only continue with these infusions through the support of others as we are financially stretched every week. Can I please ask of those that haven't shared our story to possibly do so; I have two beautiful children that deserve to have their mummy around for as long as possible..

We thought it was time to fill you all in on my latest scan results. On Tuesday been, I went for my standard clinic appointment with Oncologist.

Basically he totally confirmed my "imaginitis". The big lesion on my liver has grown larger than twice the size it was in December, causing a lot on inflammation and pain in that area. It has also spread rather aggressively through my bones mainly in my pelvis/femur area. This is my main concern at the moment as the last thing we need is me in a wheel chair (especially in this house).

So long story short, the last 5 months of treatment have been a complete waste of time and suffering (in a lot more ways than one).

Game plan? Radiation will begin on hip over next couple of weeks. As soon as that's completed, a new and even less friendly chemo regime will start.

We are still getting our own heads around it all but are more than happy to answer any questions you might have.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers

Chad and I are so humbled, thank you for your amazing generosity so far. We are truly overwhelmed.

With what has been donated today alone, we wont have to worry about fuel costs to and from hospital or parking for some time (in 19 months we have paid over 1.8k in parking fees at hospitals alone). It will also cover my initial consultation with the IV Vit C team.

    Thank you
