Suasdei! I'm Talia - volunteering as a teaching assistant at Honour Village who provide quality education for a very poor rural community.
Nationwide
Since my first visit to Cambodia in 2003 at the age of 7, the country and Khmer people hold a dear place in my heart. The trip is entirely self-funded and a percentage of the funds raised will go towards Honour Village Cambodia (HVC). I will be volunteering for 2-4 months from November.
The Honour Village project (10km out of Siem Reap) provides schooling and extra learning for the community including 400 children, a residential home for 52 vulnerable and homeless children, and wider community support to surrounding villages.
HVC are totally dependent on donations and all non-Khmer staff give freely of their time and receive no compensation. Every dollar directly funds the project.
The chance to volunteer with HVC will enable me to put my passion for humanity into action and will give me a focus that is not solely for my own gain. I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to benefit this community and would welcome your every assistance in fulfilling this dream. Every little bit helps!
