Giving Tenacious Tania a break

The shock of Tania’s cancer news stunned us for a time before we shook ourselves and decided there was one way to deal with the situation. Get off out backsides, pool resources and raise some money in support of Tania’s journey.

Tania Rountree is the sort of person who puts others first and has been ‘Paying Forward’ for most of her life. As a Mother, Kindergarten Teacher, Teacher of the Deaf, Antenatal Educator and a newly registered Midwife it is easy to see how much of a giving person Tania is.

Because most mothers have the tendency of putting others first, we believe it is time for Tania to be on the receiving end of Paying Forward. The answer seems simple. Raise enough money for Tania to have some money solely for her to have a massage, paint her toenails, acupuncture treatment, or buy a new pair of shoes or a nice dress if she wishes. Mothers can struggle to give themselves permission to immerse themselves in these activities sometimes considered luxuries.

We, Moerangi and Heather, are planning to shave our heads on Sunday 29th March 2015 in order to raise some funds for our friend Tania. Losing your hair due to cancer treatment is one of the easier by-products in the big scheme of things; however it is the one thing that we are able to empathise with Tania about. Your support would really help.
