HELP GET REMOTE MONITORING IN PLACE FOR AT RISK PEOPLE IN OUR REGION

Well Foundation and Waitematā DHB are working together to support the rapid establishment of remote patient monitoring for those in our community with underlying health conditions.

A significant challenge faced by North Shore and Waitākere Hospitals is that vulnerable patients across West Auckland, North Shore and Rodney, still need access to acute and chronic care, unrelated to COVID-19.

Donations will help rapidly establish remote patient monitoring for those in the community with health conditions including respiratory conditions, diabetes, heart conditions, and patients with compromised immune systems.

To make this possible, devices that record heart rate, temperature, blood oxygen level, and breathing rate are urgently needed. Patients will be taught how to use the devices, which will be monitored remotely by our specialist hospital staff so patients can be given advice and support on how to stay safe and well in their home, keeping them out of the hospital environment unless absolutely necessary.

Waitematā DHB is the largest District Health Board in New Zealand with a population of 630,000 people. Approximately 70,000 in our community are over the age of 70.

Funding is needed to provide more remote monitoring systems, for more people in our community.
