Lucia and Tobin

Thank you for all your support.

We know many of you feel helpless as you watch the plight of Jared and Sarah, seeing first Lucia, and now Tobin struck down with Acute Necrotising Encephalopathy of Childhood. Because of the rarity of this genetic condition, the prognosis and treatment are unknown - except that there is no good news.

The heartache of watching our happy, healthy, beautiful babies disappear before our eyes is indescribable.

We thank you all for your thoughts and prayers - they mean more than you will know.

We have set this page up without the knowledge of Jared and Sarah. It is for those of you who feel a donation is how you can help, but we in no way expect it.

A special thank you to the team at Starship for their care of Lucia over the last 4 years, and Tobin in these last few days. Also thank you to the team at BLENNZ school where Lucia attends.

We just want to point out that the "goal amount" is an arbitrary figure and is something we have to input when setting up the page. It does not serve any purpose. This page has been set up because of the request of a few who felt this was a way they could help.

Anything received will be gratefully accepted and all donations will go directly to Jared and Sarah. Donations will be put towards medical appointments and care (including any experimental treatment that may be of use), general bills that accumulate (Sarah had to give up work when Lucia got sick to care for her), extra hands to help when needed, and funeral expenses when needed.
