The Mangawhai Beach Tournament of the Minds Team are headng to Canberra, we need a little help!
Northland
We did it!
We nailed the Social Sciences for the regional competition in Auckland, then the Nationals at Wellington, and now we're off to Canberra! We are honoured to represent New Zealand in the Tournament of the Minds finals.
Our competition is a journey through the moral and ethical issues confronting society in the 21st Century. We get to solve real-world challenges using our creative and divergent thinking. The judges get to experience first-hand our amazing teamwork and cooperative learning - alongside our phenomenal ideas and presentation skills! We have a 3m x 3m space and 10 full minutes to present our creative thinking and problem-solving!
This is where we need your help - $25,000NZD is a fabulous amount for us to raise. We’d love you to jump on board and support us if you can. Every dollar will help.
We are not just focusing on this Give a Little Page for raising funds – we are a proactive group with fabulous ideas such as:
• Pizza Saturday
• Donut Disco
• Yarrow’s Biscuits
• Bake Sale
• Movie Day with Te Whai
Every dollar we raise here will enable us to get closer to our target.
We thank you for your support and for even taking the time to read about us.

We would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who supported our team and got us to Canberra for the TOMs International Competition. It was a truly unforgettable and unique experience, and one that we will forever be grateful for. We all gained so much from this opportunity, including confidence in ourselves and new knowledge and skills to share with our peers and younger students. THANK YOU, we could not have done this without you!
