WHY ARE WE REQUESTING FUNDING?
Although we are partly self-funded, we must look to others to support and partner with us financially to enable us to serve the Sozo and Doors Ministries children in Kampala. They are the direct recipients of our time and effort. These children have very little hope in their lives outside of Sozo and Doors ministries and we would love to partner with you in our efforts to help them.
PERSONAL CONTRIBUTIONS:
We will each be contributing at least $3000 from our own savings ($12000 as a team). This covers flights, transport, entertainment expenses, travel insurance and vaccinations. As well as giving up our jobs or using unpaid leave for the time we are in Africa.
WHAT THE FUNDING WILL BE USED FOR:
The funding that you help us raise ($12000 goal) will go towards (the figures below are for the team altogether):
• supplies we need for our work eg. eMi staff office overhead fee etc. - $3600
• accommodation in ministry housing (eMi and Doors Ministries) - $8000
• food $1600
• other ministry expenses eg. phone/internet $400
This support target could be raised if 240 people felt led to donate $50 each.
We could really use your help:
(1) Words Crew - prayer, messages, posts
(2) Finance Crew - donations
Either way you feel you are able to support us, please make contact and let us know. We find it so encouraging knowing that you are behind us.
We are involved because each one of us has individually been called by God to do His work in Kampala this year.
Before any of us had any plan to go to Kampala, God was sending us on errands, preparing our hearts and making arrangements. Jacob sold his Ute, Jesse would heal people by praying for them, Nicole moved into a flat even though she lost her job. In God’s eyes these acts of faith no matter how small, are truly momentous events in our relationship with Him.
What does it mean to do God's work in Kampala?
- It means we are going over there to love people, spreading the love of God through serving them as per their needs. Whether it is teaching children math and english, using our professions on a big master planning project creating community, or just chatting to people, meeting them where they are at and hearing their story.
