Has the insurance companies decision been challenged? I used to work in the insurance industry and their decisions are open to be challenged and reviewed. What insurance company may I ask?

Hi Sandra, yes we have challenged their decision. We even sent letters from the surgeon to say that the procedure was not cosmetic, as the name Liposuction suggests. Southern Cross said that they appreciated what we were saying but that it is clearly in their contract that any and all cosmetic procedures are not covered in the policy and "liposuction" is listed as cosmetic. We will keep challenging it but, as it stands their investigation has brought back a definitive "No'.
