Cleo's Run

I am running the AKL Half Marathon to raise funds for the Humane Society. The Society came to our aid in the way of a donation towards Cleo's care.

Cleo was a little stray that through being in the right place at the right time was found. All signs pointed to Cleo having been dumped. She was living off rubbish. She was so small. This resulted in Cleo needing a stomach operation to extract the foreign objects that were unable to pass themselves. Unfortunately after a successful op and what looked to be a good start to recovery, Cleo fell ill with a secondary infection. Long, messy story short, little Cleo passed. The humane society donated money towards a little cat they had never seen and who the outcome had been so unknown.

As a thank you to them, I would like to raise funds so that someone else in our situation may be helped. I decided on the AKL Half as for me this is a huge challenge. I have run it before but a lot has changed since then, the state of my knees for one. Cleo faced many challenges; the least I can do is face one.

Every now and then you meet a soul who can have a profound effect on your life. Sometimes the smaller they are, the bigger the effect. That was Cleo.
