    What can i say other than you are all awesome!!!

    Thank you for your time, your energy and your heart today. Your generosity has raised an amazing amount of funds for a very deserving service and i know they will really appreciate that you all got lots of mud and poo on yourselves to achieve this.

    Big thank you to Silver Fern Farms for your amazing BBQ that was delicious and perfect for the cold weather and of course big thank you to ASB for donating the bread and tomato sauce.

    Thank you to the team facilitating the rheumatic fever awareness campaign and especially Nicky for coordinating all of that branch.

    It looks like everyone had heaps of fun today and perhaps there are a few pairs of shoes that might be thrown away....but it was all worth it.

    On another note my son Joseph got to experience two firsts today. 1. he got to participate in his school cross country event and 2. he came first in his school cross country event. As his mother i cannot thank his team enough for their support and help enabling my son to be a part of the event so he could feel like everyone else.

    Remember that the fundraising page is open until next Wednesday which is the official launch date of the 2015 Northland Rescue Chopper campaign.

    P.S: Photos will start rolling in shortly as my photographer is due here at 5pm and please send pictures to me if you have any so i can load them onto the give a little page. Also look for photos of yourselves in tomorrow's Northern Advocate

  • Teams ready onsite at 10.30am

    Hi all, a message for the teams, i need you all to be there at 10.30am tomorrow so we can go over safety, logistics, positioning and all of the details we need to go over to ensure a successful and safe event.

    To all the supporters there will be a sausage sizzle for $2 and steak sandwiches for $5. All the proceeds are going to the Northland rescue chopper. See you all there

    Fingers crossed we get a reasonably fine day for everyone on Friday. Big thanks to The Kaipara Lifestyler for a second story this week and of course the D and D and the Northern Advocate for the great story on Saturday. We really appreciate all the support for such a great cause.

  • Its very muddy

    I walked around the course today and its very muddy so teams need to wear gumboots and old clothes. It took me about 25 minutes at a casual pace so it should be lots of fun and be a great team building exercise for everyone taking part.

    Teams will carry Joseph and Miya around their school cross country course so they can participate like all the other kids. We thought it would be great to raise money for the northland rescue chopper so if you sponsor these teams we can donate all the money to the NEST charity. More information will come through soon on who the awesome teams are.
