No Gear, No Idea

$1,698 of $5,000 goal
Given by 39 generous donors in around 6 months

A non-cyclist, cycling the length of the North Island, alone....

Auckland

I can’t stress enough that I am not a cyclist. This isn’t your average lycra enthusiast gone doolally. Just a girl on a mission to prove that humans are fundamentally very good people.

What makes this different, is that this isn’t your bog-standard fundraiser – No shaking of buckets, no bake sales.. we’re all bored of that. Let’s sit back and watch a girl attempt to string together every item she needs to cycle 1300km, whilst raising $5,000 for CanTeen & St John.

Ambitious, right?!

Damn straight.

But, not impossible.

If every person who views this page, shares with one other individual, this project will be ranking higher than Kim Kardashian before I can say “Yeezus!”.

I know who I’d rather support.

Louise Bailey's involvement (page creator)

The charities I'm raising awareness for are well known in New Zealand for supporting communities at their time of need ; CanTeen help young people and their families who have been diagnosed with cancer, and St. John provide essential emergency care to those who need it most, at all stages of life.

Please help them do the great work they do daily, with your kind donations.

Joint Donations...  18 August 2016

Through the bumpy learning curve of fundraising, it's really taught me how valued both St John and CanTeen are within the New Zealand community, and how relied upon they actually are, not just as stand alone charities, but together for New Zealanders in need.

For instance, in the last 24 hours a huge 60 New Zealanders will have heard the words "you have cancer" for which 33% of these will have been diagnosed in the emergency room.

This only highlights the highly valued collaboration between emergency care, and ongoing support; provided by both St John and CanTeen.

This being said, having already received over $400 in donations, I have now joined the two mighty forces of care and support, through a joint donation page - Originally setup to provide donations for CanTeen youth cancer charity, this is now recognises the joint venture St John and CanTeen offer together.

So, you can rest peacefully knowing your generous donation goes straight to those who need it most, no matter when they hear the words nobody wants to hear...
