Sea kayaking from Cape Reinga to Wellington for charity

Cared, Connor, Drew and Kurt are avid lovers of the outdoors. We are sea kayaking from Cape Reinga to Wellington (2000+ km) down the east coast to raise money for NZ Mental Health Foundation and Live Ocean.

We have selected these two charities because as a group, we recognise the importance of mental health and we want to support those in need, those working in this sector and hope to remove some of the stigma around getting support for your mental health. All of us have also found solace through exercise and nature. We believe that time and exercise in nature can help heal the body, mind and soul, so we also want to support Live Ocean who are doing amazing work trying to make out oceans healthier. We hope, with your help, to leave our moana and awa better than we found it, so that others can also find the same solace we have.

We left from Cape Reinga on 6th March 2024 and expect to arrive in Wellington mid to late May. All money that is raised will be donated equally to our two charities. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated.
