fundraising for asthma research , awareness and control

Auckland

As most of you know i have struggled though my whole life battling with asthma

As a child i have had chronic asthma and spent multiple trips each year in the back of an ambulance and many sleepless nights in hospital beds struggling for my next breath

while it will never go away i have learnt to live with it and manage it to make the most of this life

With my 40th birthday coming up i look back and realise how lucky i have been to make it so far.

But luck has nothing to do with it .

I would not be here is it wasn't for the loving support of my Mum and Dad and of course my surrounding family

And they would not have known how to help me if it wasn't for the help of all the doctors , nurses and researchers who have spent their lives finding ways for people like me to live a normal life

It hasnt been easy , many nights as a child i have laid in bed , struggling for breath , wondering if this is the night i might die

And now nearing the age of forty , i wish to give back to all those who have given so much to me

For the past five months i have been growing an itchy, scratchy , irritating , ginger beard all so i can help raise money and awareness for those suffering from asthma and also in memory of those who are no longer with us having already fought their battle with this unforgiving condition

On 31st of December i shall be shaving off my beard and also the hair from my head which i hold so dearly

Please give generously for my cause , and the cause of others
