  • Goodbye "Pork Pie"...

      3 February 2017

.....and a big thank you to all who came along to our fundraiser last night and contributed to raising nearly $1700 for KidsCan. A great effort - and a good movie to boot!

Just over 2 months of more fundraising before Janene and I are driving Mini LE the length of NZ, rattling the collection tin to help out disadvantaged kiwi kids in our schools.

Don't forget, the bonnet is still available for marketing your business/cause in exchange for a donation to KidsCan. If you or someone you know wants to get noticed then get in touch with petermwalters@gmail.com......

  • Mini LE's story

      6 May 2016

So there's a bit of a story round this Mini. This car belonged to Janene's family when she was growing up in Balfour, Southland. Her great Aunty initially bought it new and decided to start driving at the age of about 80! It soon ended up in the McLean family and eventually Janene had her turn and took it to Canterbury University in the 1980's. She sold it in Chc before she left on an OE. Then one day last year, when Janene was looking to buy the new look mini on trademe, she thought she'd look at old mini's to compare. There it was! Same car, rego, everything and for sale 30 years later. She showed it to me and I acted nonchalant saying buying a new look mini would be cool. Then I went out and bought it, fixed a few things, painted the roof and gave it to her for her birthday :)
