BASE Youth Centre is a registered Charitable Trust. Our aim is, as stated above, is to have a safe, inclusive space where youth can spend time with their friends and peers. They can choose to take part in activities on offer or do their own thing. The centre provides a number of structured activities for youth including:

• Pool Table

• Table Soccer (Foose-ball)

• Table tennis

• PlayStation and Nintendo Games

• Piano and Electric Keyboard

• Computers

• Indoor Bowls

• DVD player

• Exercise Equipment

• Books, Board Games, Craft supplies

We also run a weekly programme with semi-fixed activities that youth can elect to take part in. These are:

Monday- Mad Science (Kitchen science experiments). Held every 2nd Monday

Tuesday- Arts and Crafts

Wednesday- Homework Help (during term time which winds down at the end of the year)

Thursday- This is a casual day, activities are not normally scheduled

Friday- Cooking

BASE also runs an expanded programme and longer hours in the school holidays, which often includes larger, more involved projects.

.

BASE has one employee, whose job it is to run the centre, including programme development and to seek funding for those programmes, volunteer recruitment and management, interacting with the youth as to better understand what they want from the centre, liaising with schools and other agencies, and care, cleaning and maintenance of the centre.

BASE operates with the assistance of volunteers, who give their time when they are able. They either plan their own activities or assist with activities already planned.

BASE is governed by a board of trustees and all groups meet on a regular basis with good lines of communication.
