Arofa Koha Café – Brewing Inclusion, One Cup at a Time
Aroha + Alofa = Arofa — a name grounded in love, connection, and culture.
Arofa Koha Café is a purpose-led social enterprise proudly connected to Takiwātanga Whakatere. We are more than just coffee — we are a space where community, inclusion, and opportunity come together to uplift neurodivergent individuals and their whānau.
At Arofa, our café is a real-world training environment where neurodivergent rangatahi and community members gain hands-on experience in hospitality. With the guidance of skilled barista trainers, participants build confidence, develop practical and transferable skills, and experience the pride of contributing in a meaningful way.
We believe everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and capable. Our approach is grounded in patience, encouragement, and aroha — meeting people where they are and supporting them to grow at their own pace.
