Omanu Beach prides itself on being a family Club with the emphasis on keeping our beach safe for the community.

Bay of Plenty

Omanu Beach pride ourselves on being a family Club. We offer Junior Surf for the up to 14 year olds. When the children become 10 years old they can train with our paid Coach. Surf sport is an option from this age upwards to Masters at 30 years plus.

We are currently the Under 14 and the Masters New Zealand Champs.

Our core business is lifeguarding, we offer a number of opportunities to upskill and educate our volunteer lifeguards.

More about us

Omanu Beach SLSC was established in 1947. We have 140 voluntary lifeguards who give up their time to make our beach safe.

We have the largest Junior Surf (under 14 years) with a membership of approx 350 - 450 each season.

The running of the Club is funded by donations and grants.
