  • Coronavirus is putting vulnerable children at risk.

      15 April 2020

For families with a child in hospital, RMHC New Zealand is their safe space – and they need safety now more than ever. Each week during this outbreak, families will arrive at hospitals far from their homes in need of accommodation, food and support. Serious medical conditions don’t take a break in the face of COVID-19. Many of these children will be facing conditions or treatment that will leave their immune systems vulnerable to contracting COVID-19 – with potentially devastating consequences.

RMHC New Zealand has been deemed an essential service by the Ministry of Social Development and our partnering DHBs. This means our core mission, to provide families with accommodation and support when their child is in a hospital away from home can still be fulfilled.

RMHC New Zealand has recently launched an emergency campaign to help cover the costs aligned with continuing to support House families during the COVID-19 outbreak. Please donate today to help us provide safe accommodation and support to families during the COVID-19 outbreak, and beyond.
