This is the first of what I plan to be an annual fund raising event. Each year I plan to create a new event to help a different local dog charity/organisation.

Next year will be something different, not head shaving... I hope.

This year all funds raised will go directly to Furever Homes in Invercargill to help with the many costs of doing the fantastic job rescuing and rehoming hundreds of dogs in Southland. Furever Homes is a registered charity CC50424.

A lot of the costs involved are covered personally by the people involved with Furever Homes, especially the founder.

The money raised will help take some financial pressure off the organisation allowing them to focus more on helping animals and less on balancing the books.

I've set a target of $1,000 by lunch time on the 23rd of December. It the target is reached my head will be shaved on the 24th and this is not something I take lightly.

I'm not quite sure what my bald head would look like. If you don't want to find out how about making a single donation of $2,000 and I won't have my head shaved.

Please someone make that $2,000 donation quickly!
