We want your help to support our very young, up and coming Fashion Designer, Essjay.
Rotorua, Bay Of Plenty
Essjay is a young boy who has a passion for fashion and using pre-loved clothing to create fun and sustainable looks for the future of fashion. He has both modelled and designed for 4 years now, starting off as a model at the age of 7 and beginning his designing dream at the age of 8. He has placed in two fashion design competitions placing first in 3 categories, second place in another and an overall Judges award for most fashionable looks on the runway. Leading on from these events Essjay has been asked to create a new collection for the future of fashion for women in business. He will do this by crafting pre-loved garments into new and innovative looks for his personally selected models who are aged between 8 years old and 18 years old. Challenge accepted!
I am Essjays mother and manager (for now)
We are needing to cover travel costs and provide food for our team of 15. So petrol to travel from Rotorua to Auckland and back, and kai to feed us all for three days.
Big Thank You 11 May 2024
To those of you have made donations I just want to say that we are beyond grateful for your support 😊 I apologise for the lack of updates. This is my first time having a give a little page and I was unaware this was available 😁
So Essjay is doing great. He has completed all of his initial designs and I have managed to keep my construction flowing steadily. It is a little slower than normal because he needs to check everything as I construct to be sure that he is happy and I am understanding his visions correctly. Then he is adding all the embellishments and altering pieces as we go too. We are, I believe, doing really well and he is smashing it. His designs are amazing and they are true to him, whilst still staying true to the kaupapa of Dress for Success and empowering women into business.
Thank you again for all your support 😊
