Tiba and fibular snapped and all his arteries and muscles and nerves severed.no blood was going to foot at the accident. Hit by car towball.
Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui
My 15-year-old brother is now in intensive care after being hit by the tow-ball of a skidding car. He was standing on the side of the road when the driver accidentally hit him. The tow-ball struck his right leg, and the car came from the left side. CJ tried to run but was unfortunately hit by inches. Several people immediately rushed to help him, and we are incredibly grateful for their assistance on behalf of our family. He was quickly taken to the hospital and into the ER, where they noticed no blood flow to his foot. He then had a CT scan to check for other injuries before undergoing surgery. We were informed that the procedure was very challenging. His injuries included a compound fracture of the tibia and fibula , with severed muscles, nerves, and arteries. He was placed in an induced coma for just under a day before undergoing another surgery. Now, as I write this, he is awake and able to talk to everyone. He can somewhat move his leg on his own, and his foot is warm, which is great news. And will be taken in for another surgery tomorrow where we will find out if he will be getting his foot/leg amputated or not.
