The City of Auckland Pipe band has a long and proud history within the New Zealand Pipe Band community. First formed in 1942 from the old Auckland Pipe Band (1925), the Band entered the contest scene in 1947.
The first National Contest was held in New Plymouth in 1949, where the Band finished fourth in the B grade division (A grade being the highest). The following year, at the National Contest in Auckland, they were 2nd in B Grade, beaten by only half a point.
The 2017 NZ Pipe Band Championships sees us competing in Grade THREE.
CAPB is a self funded, community based pipe band. All funds are raised from performances played, festival grants, membership fees, tuition and fundraising events.
We perform at many community events throughout the year, including the: Auckland Domain ANZAC Dawn Service / Newmarket ANZAC Day Parade / Henderson ANZAC Day Parade / Farmers Santa Parade / North Shore Tartan Day Tattoo / St Patrick's Day Parade
Funds will be paid to a verified bank account of City of Auckland Pipe Band.
