2023 FEI World Championships for young vaulters

Waikanae, Wellington

Jasmyn’s goal is to compete at her first FEI World Vaulting Championships as an individual young vaulter in Sweden 2023. Her dream is now becoming a reality as she settles into a 6 month training program at the facilities of former vaulting world champion, Christoph Lensing, in the USA. Competitive vaulting at this level requires that Jasmyn attend multiple FEI level competitions to qualify for the world champs in Sweden which she will be doing from the USA and Europe. Jasmyn’s coaches at the Kapiti Vaulting Club in NZ are confident that her mastery of vaulting skills and dedication to the rigorous training has prepared her to take this big leap up to the top level of her sport in this age group. She would be extremely grateful for your support in any little way to boost her training funds for the next phase in Europe, where she needs to find a horse to compete on and then spend time there training and developing the trust and familiarity with a new equine partner to give her the best chance of success at the World Championships next July.

Use of funds

Training fees abroad, horse hireage, internal travel including horse transport, costuming, and entry fees to represent New Zealand and compete at the World Vaulting Championships during her time in Europe from approximately May to July 2023

Counting down!  11 July 2023

The past 2 months in Europe have given me an experience of a lifetime. I've been training in the Netherlands at a very high tech vaulting gym with Elle Van Dijk and participating in 2 advanced level competitions in preparation for the World Champs. I was able to attend Stadl-Paura in Austria with the Muhlacker team, competing as an individual and gaining 4th place in the Senior female CVI 2*. A great opportunity then presented with an invitation to compete at CHIO Aachen, Germany which is a prestigious event in Europe, attracting the top competitors in a range of equestrian disciplines. My NZ coach, Catarina and former coach Maribel, joined me at Aachen which was amazing support. I competed on Iggy with Christina Ender from Germany lunging. Iggy and Christina will be my World Champs partners, so it was great to have a chance to put ourselves to the test at Aachen. I am now training at their facility until it is time to venture up to Sweden and reach my final goal for 2023, competing in the Young Vaulters division at the Vaulting World Championships.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey with me. I could not have done this without your generous support!

This video is a compilation of the 3 phases of the competition at CHIO Aachen, the compulsories, technical, and freestyle tests.
