Nic Gill, Sam Whitelock, Brad Mooar & friends embark on 24hr ‘Watty’ Challenge for Chalky!

    Hi everyone

    It's been a few months now since we have been in touch. Your donations are already helping people.

    We set out to raise over $100,000 for early detection of bowel cancer run through testing at Canterbury Charity Hospital. Thanks to your support for Nic, Sam and Brad, $50,000 has already been gifted to the hospital. Your contribution is already making a difference.

    We hoped to raise at least another $50,000 at the Chalky Carr Trust Party at Te Pae back in March (the date was close to Chalky's birthday - what would have been his 50th), but Covid caused us to postpone.

  • New date: Chalky Carr Trust Party at Te Pae

    As many of you know, we were looking forward to completing this latest goal to raise $100,000 supporting early detection of bowel cancer at a Chalky Carr Trust Party at Te Pae in March.

    Thanks to the generosity of you all, we have already raised $50,000 towards that goal and are putting that into play without delay at Canterbury Charity Hospital.

    Unfortunately, due to factors out of our control, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule the March event but we hope you can now join Gemma McCaw and the team on the new date of 9 September 2022.

  • Wattbike Sam is riding could be yours!!

    Our heroes have just over 3 hours to go and have raised $23,606! Now Wattbike have offered for auction the very bike Sam is riding in the incredible challenge!!! Show your support if you can. What a ride! You will see Sam on the TVNZ 1 News peddling just this bike 'over the line' shortly after 6.40pm tonight. Link to the auction here:

    The 24-hour ultimate 'Watty Challenge' starts tonight at 7pm NZT. The boys are raising funds for us, the Chalky Carr Trust, in honour of their mate Chalky. It’s not the first time these three have put in the mahi and we are so proud and grateful to have these awesome fellas behind us. Chalky created the Trust to raise money to help people who are bound together by a cancer experience in a very practical way and that’s what we are all about.

    They are riding to raise $100,000 to support early detection of bowel cancer.

    The boys are working hard in MIQ and getting ready for a 24-hour ride from 7pm NZT tomorrow, Thursday 25 November 2021.

    Gilly is having a crack at the Wattbike world record of 755km. All this hard mahi is raising funds for the Chalky Carr Trust, in honour of their mate, Chalky. How good is that?! Chalky continues to inspire us, we miss him very much.
