    Hello all, apologies for the delay with an update I have been super busy with starting a new Business. The company I worked for downsized so instead of looking for a job, I'm attempting to make it on my own "kind of" Now as for Zeus. He had his Amputation, it's fully healed and he is doing fantastic! He is running around, playing and being his happy self. He loses balance from time to time and can't turn sharp corners, but he has adapted to well. You all helped my dog have another lease on life, I will forever be greatful and I hope I can one day return this kindness.

  • Amputation done.

    Hi all, just picked up Zeus from the Vets. He had his Amputation, I'll post a covered up photo as it's a bit of a sight. If you would like to see the unedited photos, then please let me know. Thank you all for your help and hopefully his recovery goes well.

  • New Xrays

    Hi All, we took Zeus in today to xray his chest area again and his Amputation is now booked in on the 29/4/24. Thank-you all for the help thus far it's been amazing

  • More X-rays and his amputation date

    Zeus is going in for another xray in the 15th to compare from his original and to get more views so it can be sent off to a Radiologist to access. His Amputation is booked for the 29th April.

    I just hope the Radiologist doesn't find anything and Taking his leg prolongs his life for years to come. Thank you all for the support.

  • Bone biopsy results

    Results are back, Zeus appears to have Chondrosarcoma - Cancer.

    This is both good and bad news.

    Good news it's not Osteosarcoma which is the very bad bone Cancer.

    Bad news is, it's still cancer but he does have a chance to survive or at least live a few years longer.

    What now? We Amputate his Leg, this gives him the best possible chance to live. We also need to go to Massey to Scan his body to see if there is any spread, and to see if it's anywhere else, Chemo doesn't do anything here, but radiotherapy might.

    So there's a chance we may have our Pup around a bit longer, but the CT Scan will tell us more and he will live his remainder years with 3 legs.

    Current Vet bills pushing $8000 at this stage, Thanks to all who have helped out so far.

  • Tumour

    Hi Team,

    I managed to get a photo of his leg where his Tumour is. Now that he had a bone biopsy, they shaved his fur and it's very obvious now. We had a rough night last night. I left for work this morning and my wife mentioned he was crying when I left So im back home with him now. Thank you all for the support. It's amazing.

  • Bone Biopsy done

    Zeus had his Bone Biopsy today, we won't have the results for about a week. So just a waiting game. He's sore and starting his recovering from it. Had to hand feed him tonight, other than that he's doing well.

  • Bone Biopsy 25/3/24

    Hi Team,

    Just a quick update, we take Zeus into the vets tomorrow to get a bone Biopsy done on the Tumour in his Leg, this will give us a better understanding of the growth, very nerve racking news. To say I'm scared would be an understatement.

  • CT ADVANCED IMAGING COST

    Hi Team,

    I have heard back from Massey Uni in regards to the CT Scan for Zeus.

    THey have given an estimate of $2500.00 to complete this procedure, which will give us more information on the cancer in his lungs.

  • Next steps for Zeus

    Hi all,

    I have received an estimate of costings for the next steps for Zeus, plus what we have done so far for your information.

    So far:

    16/11/2023 - $$$ - Zeus was limping on his right hind leg, we took him to vets, they thought it maybe sprained and provided pain relief, an Xray was going to be booked, but his limp subsided, so didn't go any further.

    19/03/2024 - $776.40 - Zeus started limping again on the same right hind leg, we took him to the Vet after also discovering a lump on his leg, thinking it was dislocated this time from rough play. They did an x-ray and discovered the Tumor in his Leg, they also xrayed his chest and discovered potential Cancer in his Lungs.

    Next steps (estimates)

    $150.00 - Send the X-rays off to a Radiologist to get a 2nd opinion.

    $1200.00 - Complete a Bone Biopsy to discover the type of Tumor it is

    $2500.00 - Amputate his Right Hind Leg

    $ (UNKNOWN) - Ct advanced imaging via Massey Uni to further diagnose the cancer in his lungs.

    Once we have the information from the Biopsy, radiologist and Massey, we will need to make a plan for the remainder of his care and treatment.

    As you can see the cost so far is huge, and ongoing costs from here could skyrocket. We appreciate any donations to put towards this.
