T.H.E needs your help to build social & emotional resilience in more NZ kids.
Auckland
T.H.E has developed a mobile app for kids to help increase their social & emotional resilience. We are fundraising to further develop the app and to make it more accessible (create android version) and engaging for more kids.
On February 18th 2012 Tamara Waugh, seeking some stability during mental distress, was challenged by her friend Kate Billing to post 3 Good Things for 100 days. Within a month *teedub was bombarded with FB friends following her lead and tagging her in their first day. It became apparent to her that this was really having a mass positive impact and there needed to be a platform for all to share their 3 Good Things. So on 21st March 2012 The Happiness Experiment (3 Good Things) page was born.
This has led to continuous research and development in mindfulness, neuroscience, positive psychology, meditation, happiness and all the benefits she saw. It has become her passion and the driver of a lot of her actions.
When you write 3GoodThings every night it shifts your focus toward noticing more and more positive things, therefore changing the way you step out into the world each day (redirecting your neural pathways).
It increases self awareness, compassion, increases your emotional resilience, practices being in the present (mindfulness) which builds focus and productivity and with all that gratitude your mental well being is at an all time high : )
With so much negativity in the media, the focus on negative things seems ever present. Its easy to be consumed by evidence of violence, war, natural disasters, the GFC, redundancies, loved ones dying of cancer, being diagnosed with depression, youth suicide rates, appalling child abuse and bullying at school and at work. This is why we believe its so important to remember and reflect on the good things in each day - taking responsibility for your own mind and what you feed it, as much as you do your body.
I want the mindfulness tool #3goodthings to be practiced in schools, businesses and care homes. Join the movement, DONATE! Apple users download the app and start your very own Happiness Experiment

Wow guys thanks so much! We have reached $395 within the first 48 hours of launching this campaign.
I'm very excited to see all the interest and support.
I will be speaking about the app and how it came to be on TV3 6pm News over the Easter weekend.
I will update you all as to whether it will be Friday or Saturday.
Thank you all so much for your invaluable support :-)
