Five Marathons in five consecutive days

My name is Mark Wellstead and this page has been created as I want to raise money for a Recumbent bike that will enable almost anyone to access the Otago Central Rail Trail.

I am going to run five marathons in five consecutive days on the Otago Central Rail Trail, starting on the 20th of December and finishing on Christmas Eve.

Being able to ride a bike and get some quality exercise is a given for most of us but there are a great deal of people that are not able to ride a bike for many different reasons such as disability or illness.

This recumbent bike will enable everyone the opportunity to access the trail and experience what most of us take for granted. The bike will be purchased by the Good Life Trust which has already raised money and obtained one tandem bike.

The five marathons is unfortunately not the most painful bit, as the price of one of these bikes is $15000. If I can raise the money to purchase a bike it will be kept at Trail Journeys in Clyde and will be able to be accessed by anyone that comes to the area.
