Seven open-water swims around Queenstown to give back to the organisations that helped save my life and support my recovery.
Queenstown, Otago
In September 2025, my life changed overnight. What started as a brain infection developed into meningitis and a major stroke. I spent time in intensive care, underwent multiple brain surgeries and was left paralysed down my left side.
There were times when the future was incredibly uncertain, but thanks to some amazing people, organisations and the support of my family, I've been given a second chance at life.
Now I want to say thank you.
7 Swims is my challenge to complete seven open-water swims around Queenstown, pushing myself physically and mentally while raising money for three organisations that mean a great deal to me:
Ranui House
Baskets of Blessings
Air Ambulance
Each played an important part in helping me and my family through an incredibly difficult time.
This isn't about breaking records or winning races. It's about recovery, gratitude and showing what's possible after a life-changing event.
Every donation, big or small, is a way of saying thank you and helping these organisations continue supporting others when they need it most.
Seven swims. Three incredible causes. One big thank you.
All funds raised will be shared between Ranui House, Baskets of Blessings and Air Ambulance, helping them continue providing vital care and support to people and families facing difficult times.
THANK YOU! 7 November 2026
A massive thank you to everyone who has donated to my 7 Swims of Whakatipu Givealittle page so far!
I'm genuinely blown away by the generosity and support. Every donation, big or small, means so much and will make a real difference to the charities that helped me and my family through the toughest time of our lives.
Still a long way to go, but I'm incredibly grateful to have you all behind me! ❤️🏊♂️
