5 NICU twin Mammas raising money for the Neonatal Unit that cared for their babies for a combined total of 359 days!
Christchurch, Canterbury
Jasmine, Janina, Tania, Catherine & Samantha are a group of 5 NICU twin Mammas. In 2021, we all met and crossed paths in the Christchurch Neonatal Unit where our 10 babies were being cared for following their premature birth.
We are going to walk 718km between us in March (2km for every day our babies were in NICU - a total of 359 days!) to raise money for the unit to buy important equipment such as breast pumps, lazy boy for those important kangaroo cuddles, incubators and/or any other equipment the unit needs.

Where our donations are being spent… 25 June 2022
We had the pleasure of meeting with Paul and his wife Julie. Paul is the Chairman of the Canterbury Neonatal Unit. We heard about their story and the experience they had with the Neonatal Unit.
There's alot to be said for chats over coffee, especially with people who can relate to the rough ride that is spending time in a NICU enviroment. Nothing is ever off the table. Every emotion can comfortably laid on the line without judgement and whatever your story, you're made to feel valid.
We all got to take our beautiful healthy babies home after we stayed a total of 357 days collectively in the Christchurch Woman's NICU. There are families who do not get to have this option. There are babies who grow their angel wings too soon and can only be apart of their family from above. With the donations through the money raised from our 718km for NICU, we can proudly say that we are able to provide the unit with a 'CuddleCot'. The Cuddle Cot gives the families time. The CuddleCot cools to an ideal temperature for preserving baby without being too cold for the parents allowing the family to spend precious time with their baby, precious moments where every minute counts.
Thank you to every single donation, words of encouragement and motivation. Thank you for the support. But most importantly, Thank you for helping us give families a little bit more time.
