Help local dancers "98 Cents" get to Portugal to represent NZ & Gizzy at the Hip Hop Unite World Championships!
Gisborne
98 Cents is a local dancing duo (Paul Hawaikirangi and Kylah Ashwell). They have recently won gold at the Hip Hop Unite NZ competition in Lower Hutt and have qualified to go to the world championships!
The team will compete in Obidos, Portugal on the 26th-28th October 2023 at the Hip Hop Unite World Championships as part of Team NZ.
This will be the first international dance competition Paul and Kylah will compete at together, representing NZ and their hometown Gisborne. Here at home, Paul has held many dance workshops within the community and they have both been involved with the local musical theatre scene- choreographing Rock of Ages in 2022 and School of Rock 2023 (at present) together. They hope to continue with their dance activities in the community upon their return and make connections with the national and international dance community abroad.
