Help St Mary's School Northcote raise funds to develop a beautiful garden space dedicated to Mary.
Auckland
St Mary's School Northcote requests the help of our community to raise funds for a newly commissioned ceramic tile icon of Our Lady and Child Jesus. This beautiful piece of art and the surrounding Marian prayer garden will create a contemplative space dedicated to Mary - an outward symbol of our special Catholic character, and a focal point for our school, parish and community to gather in faith.
Our school grounds have changed dramatically in the last few years, with new innovative learning spaces, turf playgrounds and modern paint colours all contributing to a fresh, exciting feeling in the school. Through this project, we want to ensure that our school is visibly a place where our faith is at the forefront.
Sponsorship packages for donations over $500 are available by arrangement - email fundraising@sms.school.nz for more information.
St Mary's is a Catholic primary school in Northcote, focused on providing the best possible Catholic education for every learner. Our aim is to develop well-balanced young people who are equipped to contribute positively to the communities they are part of, both now and in the future.
The money raised will only be used to pay for the ceramic tile icon of Our Lady, the landscaping needed to prepare the ground, a seating area and the surrounding planting.
Our Prayer Garden and Icon Unveiled! 24 August 2018
On Tuesday 14 August we celebrated our school feast day. It was an important day for us with the unveiling and blessing of the Marian Prayer Garden. Thank you to our students, staff, parents, donors and guests for joining us, and a special thank you to Michael Pervan for writing our beautiful icon. So far we have raised just under $17,000 towards a target of $24,000! This is an absolutely amazing effort from so many people and we would like to thank all of you for your support.
