Help young skaters from South Auckland compete with the best in the world!
Nationwide
This fundraising is for a group of young sponsored skaters from South Auckland to travel to USA in March 2015 to compete at 'Phoenix AM' one of the biggest amateur competition in the world! more info here: http://phxam.com
A lot of skaters who have either placed, done well or stood out at this event have gone to be some of the most successful professional skateboarders in the world. It is our aim to do our best and create the same opportunities for the group of young skaters we are taking there.
We have already travelled to Australia twice before to compete in 'Volcom's Wild In The Park' competition where we placed both 1st place in OPEN and 2nd place in Under 16 category and now want to take it to the next level and compete against the best in the world.
After the competition we plan to travel to Los Angeles California the capital of the world for skateboarding for a period of 2 weeks where we will visit/skate all the iconic spots, skateparks and network with important people in the industry.
Here are the 4 skaters we are fundraising for:
- Brad Lakau (17 years old), Randwick South Auckland
- Kobe Daniels (15), Clendon South Auckland
- Lenard Tejada (15) - 2012 National Champ, Papakura South Auckland
- Tai Wepa (14) - 2014 National Champ, Hasting Napier/Manurewa South Auckland
We also have 2 camera men and photographer that will accompany the young skaters not only as chaperon but to document the whole journey:
- JP Bishop (organisor & camera man)
- Daniel Peterken (camera man)
- Kingsley Attwood (photographer)
