Help us support the Wheelie Awesome Project in conjunction with the Lincoln University Mountain Bike Club and get more kids out biking !
Canterbury
We (Mckayla and Chantal) are setting off on a 4500km adventure through the Canadian and American wilds. We will be biking the Tour Divide route from Banff, Canada following the Continental Divide down the length of America to the Mexican border. Over 40 days we will average 112km a day, with over 60,000 meters of vertical climbing. We will encounter wildlife, snowy mountain tops and hot deserts.
We want encourage children to get on their bikes, discover the joy of riding and embark on their own adventures. Therefore, we have chosen to raise funds for the Lincoln University Mountain Bike Club’s project Wheelie Awesome. Wheelie Awesome objective is to donate bikes to low decile schools in Christchurch. With the initial goal of providing enough bikes to support a whole class room. Donated bikes will be repaired to New Zealand Road Safety requirements.
In addition, the Lincoln University Mountain Bike Club will educate the children in cycle safety and maintenance with the support of the Christchurch City Council. At the end of the session, children will be given bikes as a transport option to and from school.
All money raised will go to the Lincoln University Mountain Bike Club to help support the Wheelie Awesome project. In lieu of money if you have old bikes you would like to donate to the project they would be greatly appreciated.
We would like to raise funds towards this cause as we would like to encourage children to get out their on bikes and discover untold adventures that can be had on a bike.
All money raised will go to the Lincoln University Mountain Bike Club to go towards refurbishing donated bikes or purchasing more bikes to donate to the school of choice.
