Help Sam Represent New Zealand at the World Fencing Championships
Rangiora, Canterbury
Sam has been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2026 World Fencing Championships in Hong Kong.
Representing New Zealand has been Sam's dream for many years.
After injuries ended his dream of representing New Zealand in boxing, Sam refused to give up. He found a new passion in fencing and has worked tirelessly to earn his place on the New Zealand team for the 2026 World Fencing Championships in Hong Kong.
Living with ongoing health challenges means Sam experiences chronic pain, headaches, dizziness and fatigue every day and is unable to work. Despite this, he never lets his circumstances define him.
When Sam has the energy, he gives it wholeheartedly to others. He volunteered to establish North Canterbury Fencing, coaches beginners, supports friends and family, and treasures every moment with his children, nieces and nephews. Those who know Sam know his generosity and determination are second to none.
Sport, alongside his children, gives him purpose and the motivation to keep pushing forward.
Although Sam has earned the honour of representing New Zealand, the cost of travelling to Hong Kong is beyond his means. Funds raised will help cover flights, accommodation, competition fees and other essential travel costs.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help Sam achieve a lifelong dream and wear the silver fern with pride.
Thank you for your support.
I am Sam's sister, fierce supporter and friend.
