join me as I circumnavigate NZ in a 6m lifeboat, uncovering ocean issues, sharing solutions, and creating a movement for marine conservation
Nationwide
I’m Tane Tarlton, a Kiwi adventurer and content creator on a mission to circumnavigate New Zealand in a 6m lifeboat to uncover the truth about our ocean, highlight key issues, and share solutions through the experts I meet.
Our ocean is under threat—from overfishing to habitat destruction and warming waters. But these conversations aren’t reaching enough people. To truly protect what we love, we need more people to engage. This journey intertwines adventure and conservation, presenting these critical issues in a way that makes them impossible to ignore—so the public can understand, care, and take action to be part of the solution.
Through a 15-part YouTube series and a full-length documentary, I’ll be speaking with scientists, conservationists, fishers, divers and local legends to uncover what’s happening beneath the surface and most importantly, what we can do to fix it. Chris Davison and I will be co-producing the Youtube series and documentary to bring a major step up in production quality.

So far this is a self-funded project but to make it happen at the scale it deserves, I need support. Every dollar raised goes directly into:
Building the Lifeboat – $50,000
Fuel, travel & logistics – $20,000
Production & filming – $80,000
Food & equipment – $15,000
Giving back to projects (as funding allows)
🌊 Why Your Support Matters
Your support fuels a project that helps protect Aotearoa’s ocean for future generations. Thank you for being part of this journey 🌏💙
This journey will happen no matter what. If I don’t meet the full target, I’ll still set out on the expedition, but it will mean cutting back on certain equipment and resources. Every contribution helps make this as impactful as possible.
