We’re raising funds to ease the financial pressure while Mum and Dad are both off work following Dad’s accident and stroke.
Kerikeri, Northland
As many of you know, our dad (Glenn) recently suffered a severe stroke after a freak accident when a sheep struck him in the side of the head.
We came frighteningly close to losing him. Thankfully, Dad is a stubborn old thing, and that determination is shining through as he fights to get back to himself. We’re so grateful he’s still here, but there’s a long and uncertain road ahead.
We don’t yet know whether Dad will return to work, as his eye sight has also been greatly affected. Mum will likely be his main carer for the coming months. Without their usual income, worrying about everyday bills is an added pressure neither of them needs right now.
Mum and Dad have always worked hard, and accepting help doesn’t come easily to either of them. But sometimes life changes in an instant, and even the strongest people need others to help carry the weight.
We’ve set up this page to give them some breathing room, so Dad can focus on recovering and Mum can be beside him.
Any contribution, big or small, would mean so much. If donating isn’t possible, sharing this page or sending your love is deeply appreciated.
We can’t take away the hard parts of Dad’s recovery, but together we can make the road a little easier. Thank you for being there for our family.
I am their eldest daughter
The money raised will help cover Mum and Dad’s everyday living costs while they’re both off work, so Dad can focus on his recovery and Mum can be there to care for him.
