A devoted father, friend, and community member, Pawanjit lost his leg in a sensless & tragic accident. Let’s help him rebuild his life!
Te Atatu Peninsula, Auckland
Pawanjit Singh Ghatora (affectionately known as PSG) is a devoted husband, father, friend, and generous community member. He has always put others first—now, he needs us.
On Saturday, February 1st, 2025, while walking with his elderly father in Te Atatū, West Auckland, an out-of-control vehicle veered off the road, striking Pawanjit and pinning him against a power pole. His father narrowly escaped but was left traumatized, witnessing his son’s life change forever.
Rushed to Auckland City Hospital in critical condition, doctors fought to save him, but he lost his right leg above the knee.
A Long Road to Recovery
Pawanjit remains in the hospital, facing excruciating pain, rehabilitation, and emotional trauma. His wife has taken unpaid leave to care for him, and ACC payments aren’t enough to cover their mortgage and living costs.
Now He Needs Our Help
Losing a limb brings overwhelming financial, physical, and emotional burdens. While ACC provides some support, it won’t cover everything Pawanjit needs to rebuild his life.
Pawanjit has always been a giver, a supporter, and an inspiration to so many. Now, it’s our turn to give back.

#SupportPawanjit 💙
I was previously Pawanjit’s boss and shared his journey of being separated from his family for two years, during COVID, witnessing his resilience and joy when reunited with his family, we are now close friends
Funds will go towards a prosthetic leg, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, home modifications, and essential expenses as ACC falls short and his wife is on unpaid leave. Donations will help Pawanjit regain mobility, independence, and financial stability
A word from Pawanjit - Heartfelt Gratitude. 3 March 2025
To my incredible family, friends, colleagues, and the amazing community that has surrounded me with love and support,
I am beyond grateful for everything you’ve done since my accident. While I’ve lost my right leg above the knee and fractured my left foot, I’ve gained an overwhelming sense of love, care, and compassion from all of you. This experience has shown me the true strength of human kindness, and I feel incredibly fortunate.
From those who provided first aid to the ambulance staff, doctors, nurses, and my family and friends who stood by me—thank you. Your care and dedication have given me hope and strength during this challenging time.
After five surgeries, I especially want to thank the surgeons and medical staff for their skill and compassion. With time, patience, and your support, I know I will get through this.
To those who contributed to the Give a Little campaign, your generosity has lifted a huge burden, allowing me to focus on recovery. I am forever grateful.
I’ve always loved running, and while life has changed, I am determined to run again. Your encouragement keeps me hopeful and motivated.
This journey has been difficult, but it has also been filled with gratitude and love. Thank you for being my pillars of strength and reminding me that even in the darkest times, there is light.
With love & thanks,
PSG
