A Mother's legacy, a Mother's dream

I’d like to introduce you to my family: our three beautiful children, Mafa, Eden, Leo, and my beautiful wife, best friend, and soulmate, Nona (Wendy).

Our cancer journey began in 2019 with a breast cancer diagnosis. We beat it then, closing the chapter to focus on building our future. However, in 2025, doctors found a new mass. In August 2025, Nona underwent surgery for a 15cm malignant Neuroendocrine mass. Following months of investigations, May 2026 brought the diagnosis of Stage 4 Neuroendocrine Cancer, which has spread to her lung, liver, and L2 vertebra.

We are taking things one day at a time. Nona fights daily through limited energy, pain everywhere. After 3 months of chemo, scans show a small blessing: no significant growth in her lung or L2, though her L2 has fractured but significant growth in her liver.

Forced into conversations of quality vs. quantity of life. The timeline is incredibly difficult: 3–6 months without treatment, or 6–12 months with it. Who ever wants to have this discussion with their loved one?

Through it all, we’ve learned that gratitude and uncertainty exist side by side. You can be deeply grateful for today while still wondering what tomorrow might bring. What this journey is teaching our family is that life is incredibly precious, time is never guaranteed, and dreams are too important to delay.
