Thanks to everyone who has donated so far and contributed to the speedy build of our new Child Welfare clinic. Given we haven't had further donations since May and are very close now to opening our clinic (January 2026), we'll be closing this page shortly. Meitaki ma'ata
Time for a CLINIC PROGRESS REPORT 🛠️ From foundation to the future—the roof is on at our new Inave/Ruaau Clinic and the rest is rising fast, thanks to these legends 💪🏽✨ Early Saturday mornings, hard work, and big hearts, working for no $ and no expectation apart from community kudos. The dream is becoming real 🥰 This crew’s got the Clinic sprinting to the finish line!
#Speedybuildmode: activated. 🌺
Meitaki ma’ata to our volunteer crew! 🌴❤️
BUT WAIT - there's still a ways to go yet. We've still got to pay for windows and doors, sinks, landscaping, decking and furniture. If you'd like to help our crew cross that finish line, please click that donation link on this page. Every dollar counts, thank you 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thanks to fundraising efforts both here and in Rarotonga, the Ruaau / Inave Clinic project is well underway now. The Clinic build is progressing fast thanks to our amazing tradespeople donating their time on the weekend to help with the build.
The footprint of the new clinic is 6m long and 10m wide, including a large verandah at the front to give the mums and babies some shade in summer.
In this video with Cook Island TV News, our Clinic Project Committee Chairman William Tuivaga takes us on a walkthrough of the clinic shell, explaining all the features and what each area of the Clinic will be used for.
If you'd like to contribute to this important project and help us finish the build fast for our mamas and pēpe in Puaikura, you can donate via this page. Thank you
On Friday 2nd May 2025, the “Tuku’anga o te Tango” or laying of the cornerstone’s ceremony was held at our new clinic site. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the landowners, the traditional leaders of Ruaau, representative of our Paramount Chief Tinomana Ariki, Arorangi Ekalesia, former clinic nurses, former clinic committee members, project committee members and the general community. The ceremony was performed by the Arorangi Ekalesia.
The build has commenced and we have a working bee of volunteers on site every Saturday, but we are still a long way from our fundraising target. Can you help? Any donations will go towards our building materials. Meitaki ma'ata 🙏🏾
The project is in full swing now, with the old clinic demolished and the groundworks laid for our new clinic. Our Committee President William Tuivaga was interviewed on Cook Islands TV News at our cornerstone laying ceremony last week. See his interview below.
Thanks to everyone who has donated so far. We still have a long way to go to reach target, but we appreciate your amazing help to date. If you are unable to donate, perhaps you could share this page to your Kuki Airani friends and whanu. Meitaki 🙏🏾🥰
We've been given a ballpark figure for the build of the new clinic - between NZD190 and 200k. So we're revising our Give a Little donation target to NZD 99,000 in the hopes we can raise enough funds via donations to cover at least half the total cost. Can you help? 🙏🏽
