A path for Paul

$50 of $8,000 goal
Given by 1 generous donor since yesterday

Help us build a path for Paul and the community, to gain better access to our archery club and the beautiful Chingford Park

Dunedin, Otago

We're raising funds to improve access to our archery club and Chingford Park for our whole community - but especially for Paul Wallace, an emerging para archer who credits archery with giving him a new lease on life.

Paul — a dedicated para archer — and his coach, Garry, will be taking on an incredible challenge: shooting continuously for 12 hours at Chingford Park on September 27th 2026.

Their goal is bigger than endurance. They’re aiming to raise enough funds to build a safe, accessible concrete path so Paul and other wheelchair users can independently and confidently access the park for training and recreation.

Paul is working tirelessly toward his dream of one day representing New Zealand in archery, and this pathway is a crucial step in making that journey possible.

Every bit of support helps move Paul closer to the field — and closer to the international stage.

Paul and Garry will be shooting along with other club members from 8.00 a.m. until 8.00 p.m. So come along at any time and support them, any donations big or small will be most welcome.

During this epic shoot, Dunedin Archery Club will also be holding a public Have-a-Go Day at Chingford Park from 1.00 pm until 3.00 p.m.

The concrete path is expected to help wheelchair users, families with prams and in general anyone with a difficulty in climbing stairs. We see this as a great asset for everyone who enters the park

About us

The Dunedin Archery Club is regarded as the first modern archery club in New Zealand and was founded in 1938. Our volunteers run archery courses and provide coaching for members year round at our grounds at Chingford Park.

Use of funds

Donations will fund a new concrete path to improve access for people with mobility challenges. We already have some funding from community grants but need to make up the shortfall. Any additional funds raised will go towards improvements to the clubrooms.
