A safe and reliable trailer to transport wild horses after they are mustered.
Northland
Since 2010, The Wild Horse Project has transported numerous wild horses from Te Oneroa-a-Tōhe/Ninety Mile Beach in the Far North of NZ, to our farm for taming, rehabilitation and training. We then find new homes for them to go on and live wonderful lives.
The fundraiser is specifically for the trailer to safely and efficiently move the horses. We have looked for a trailer like this for years and finally we have found one very close by! Usually they are imported from the US and that is beyond our means.
This trailer will ensure the horses arrive at our farm in the best possible condition. Particularly when we are transporting mares and their new foals. It has the right setup for loading and enough space.
As we are a charity with no government support, we rely solely on donations and horse adoption to fund our mahi with these amazing animals. Our approved mustering ensures the herd will be sustainable for generations to come.
The Wild Horse Project is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and education of wild horses. There are around 2,000 horses in the Far North NZ. Approved mustering ensures the natural food and water supply can support the herd for generations to come.
We will purchase the trailer to transport the wild horses from the far north to our farm for taming and then find them new homes. This work makes the herd sustainable for future generations.
Generous donation and getting closer to our goal! 16 October 2024
We have received a very generous donation of $5000 directly for this trailer. So reducing the over amount to be raised to $14,000. This trailer will solve a whole bunch of logistical problems for us and the need to collect/move horses each week is becoming greater. Thank you for your support.
