My name is Judieline “Judy” Villanueva, and I am Carlo’s older sister. I am reaching out with a humble heart to ask for help for my younger brother, Carlo Austero Celeste, 46, single, who is critically ill and currently in a coma in a hospital in the Philippines.

Carlo has kidney failure and has been on dialysis for 10 years. Despite his illness, he remained active and loved helping people with his talent for house design and colour combinations.

Sadly, this year his health declined and he has had four hospital admissions. On July 19, he suffered a cardiac arrest. Although he remains critically ill and comatose, his doctors have advised that he is not considered to be dying at this time and requires ongoing treatment. He was on ventilator and then transferred to tracheostomy oxygen.

As his family, we cannot simply walk away. We want to continue looking after him and provide the treatment, love, care and support that he needs.

For 10 years, I supported Carlo financially while living and working in New Zealand. When he became critically ill, I travelled to Philippines, took out an emergency bank loan. Despite this, a large portion of his hospital bills remains unpaid.

I work in health care, hospice, NASC and I help families through difficult situations. This time, it is my own brother, and I am asking for help.

Your support will help with his hospital bills, dialysis, medications, and ongoing care.

Carlo remains critically ill and comatose and continues to require ongoing medical care, oxygen, dialysis and other essential treatment. Our family remains committed to looking after him and providing the care, love and support he needs.

I have recently updated the fundraising target and closing date as his hospitalisation continues and his medical expenses continue to grow.
