Abortion Providers Could Use Some Love

Show abortion providers in NZ how much we appreciate their work all year round, by sending them some flowers, cheer, and love.

Wellington

Abortion providers in Aotearoa face harassment and judgment every day they come to work. That harassment increases during Lent, when abortion opponents step up their activities. They call it '40 Days for Life', and they don't mean the life of the pregnant person, or their families, or the dedicated people who provide them with care.

Now that the Abortion Legislation Bill has passed without safe areas, abortion opponents are likely to exploit the lack of legal protection by stepping up their efforts to harass providers this year. We have already seen such escalations in some of the main centres.

Every year, ALRANZ sends treats of various sorts to abortion providers in New Zealand - as many as we can afford. This year, because of public health issues around Covid-19, we thought we would stick to flowers, rather than food.

With your help, we can show abortion providers we appreciate the work they do all year round, helping pregnant people exercise their human right to bodily autonomy. Help us send them big, gorgeous bouquets of flowers!

Use of funds

We will use the funds donated to send flowers to as many abortion providers as we can, hopefully all of them. Any additional money will go into ALRANZ's general fund.
