    Thank you so much for your support of reproductive rights.

    We had a win last year – abortion is legal now.

    Safe areas never made it into the final bill. Louisa Wall has a member’s bill to rectify that mishap.

    But the process the amendment bill sets out for creating a safe area is needlessly complicated.

    The process in the bill to get just ONE safe area requires an Order in Council on the recommendation of two cabinet ministers. It’s cumbersome and always a step behind – people need safe areas now.

    This is where you come in.

    We have a petition that asks the select committee to fix this part of the safe areas bill. Would you please sign it? And tell your friends?

    We want everyone who needs abortion care to feel safe going to their medical appointments. We want everyone who provides abortion care to feel safe at their jobs. We want safe areas to be established around every place where abortion is provided from assent.

    Thanks for all your help over the years. You have made such a difference in the lives of people who can become pregnant.
