ADHD Assessment for Suse

  • Quick Blast (From the Past) of Gratitude

      22 May 2025

Oh hi there! If you are getting this as an email, it's because you were one of the heroes in my life who donated to my first ADHD assessment a little over two years ago. I just wanted to let you know that I have been able to get another assessment, and am, as of this day of writing, officially AuDHD (diagnosed autistic with ADHD). I have been prescribed meds and am looking forward to them making a hopefully very significant difference in my life, as well as that of my partner Ed's, who has been the biggest hero in supporting me through some really tough times. Anyhoo, I just wanted to take the opportunity to let you know that your contributions (and, for many of you who know me personally, your friendship and emotional support) have been invaluable in my journey and I am so, so, so thankful for you! Good on yas, mates! (Eek, I just made myself cringe! ;D)

Lots of love and all the best to you! oxo

  • It's an... ASD! ... Thanks and what's next

    Kia ora koutou

You might have forgotten about this thing you did a few months ago, but I wanted to let you know, it made a huge difference in someone's life.

First off, so many thanks for your kindness and concrete act of solidarity that, along with the contributions from every recipient of this email, allowed me to access a life-changing medical assessment.

I set out to collect funds to cover an ADHD assessment and potential treatment, should a diagnosis be found. Thanks to your and others’ help, I was able to complete a major milestone in this journey: an ADHD assessment.

The “verdict” has now come in, and, as far as I understand it, the short answer is (paraphrased): 'There is not enough evidence for an ADHD diagnosis as yet, but due to additional questionnaires, promoted by observation during the interview, the available evidence is “consistent with a diagnosis of: F84.0 Autism Spectrum Disorder, Level One”'.

I am now going to have a bit of a journey finding out what this means for me. It certainly explains a lot of things from my life. And, I will now feel freer to explore just how much this may have been the case. And, more importantly, develop strategies for working with my autistic differences, rather than against them.

Now, I hate to do this (truly!!!), and I am definitely not asking you to contribute again, but would you be inclined to share my GiveALittle page one more time on your networks? I feel that the question of ADHD has not been answered, so there is more to explore. More importantly, I would like to access some Autism Spectrum specific counselling / therapy, and with my current circumstances, I cannot afford such things. So, if we could do one more push together? Maybe, you have a rich uncle you don’t like, but who likes fuzzy-feeling-inducing charity work?! … Ahem, too much? :/ Did I mention I have autism? 😃

So, anyhoo, thank you, thank you, thank you for the contribution you have already made! It is changing this (my!) life as I write this. Not asking for more, only if you could please reshare this link https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/adhd-assessment-for-suse best before the end of the month. ;)

I wish you all the best and hope this found you well,

    Peace!

    Suse
