Raising funds for Alby's emergency vet care and surgery after he was found critically injured following 10 days missing.
Marshland, Christchurch
After 10 long days of searching and door knocking, hundreds of flyers, and multiple walks a day calling, day and night, our beautiful boy Alby was finally found trapped underneath a woodpile at a neighbouring property.
Unfortunately, he's in a really bad way. He's severely dehydrated, lost nearly 1 kg, and has suffered some horrific injuries, including an infected compound fracture to his back leg and extensive skin damage to his paw and forehead. It's looking likely that he'll need his leg amputated.
He's currently in critical condition at the emergency vet, receiving IV fluids, antibiotics, pain relief, and nutritional support. We're hoping he can get strong enough to undergo surgery in the next couple of days.
We've already spent over $1,000 on his care, with ongoing hospitalisation and surgery still to come. We're doing everything we can to give our little boy the best chance of pulling through.
If anyone would like to help towards his vet bills, even $5 would mean so much to us. There's absolutely no pressure to donate, and we're incredibly grateful for all the love and support we've already received.
We just want our happy, cuddly boy home and healthy again. ❤️🐾
Alby's emergency veterinary care, including hospitalisation, IV fluids, medication, treatment for his infections, surgery, and potentially amputation of his injured back leg.
