All Different, All Amazing – Help Us Publish This Children’s Book.
Wellington
Every child is different - and that is what makes them amazing.
All Different, All Amazing is an A-to-Z collection of real life stories of children in NZ who are living their lives with different medical conditions, disabilities and neurodiverse experiences. These stories, sharing the challenges and triumphs, are related in a gentle, child-friendly way that focuses on strengths, understanding and inclusion.
Some children learn differently,
Some move differently,
Some experience the world in their own special way
And every one of them loves, laughs, learns and dreams.
This book was compiled by me and my daughter Indie -who is autistic, whose dream was to create an A-to-Z book that could sit in libraries, classrooms and hospitals giving children with these conditions the opportunity to see themselves in print, whilst also helping others build empathy, kindness and understanding.
To bring this vision to life, we reached out online to families all across NZ, gathering real stories directly from children and their whānau. These stories are the heart of the book, making it authentic, meaningful and truly representative of diverse experiences.
We are raising $16,000 to cover editing, illustrations, design, printing and publishing costs so this book can reach families, schools and libraries.
With your support we can bring All Different, All Amazing to life and help children everywhere see that they belong - just as they are.

Inspiration behind the book 13 August 2026
A few years ago, Indie decided she wanted to write a book. Not just any book — a real book. A book you could find sitting on a library shelf, waiting for another child to discover it.
Indie wanted her book to teach the world that just because someone is different, or does things differently, it doesn’t mean they are less. It doesn’t mean they have less to offer. And it certainly doesn’t mean they are any less valued.
“Oh! And it needs to be an A to Z book!”
And so began a very long search — the length and breadth of New Zealand, finding children and families who could help us bring every letter of the alphabet to life.
Indie wanted to learn about every child. She read their stories and became excited about all the amazing things they could do. She investigated the conditions they lived with so she could understand them better. She helped message families, collect photographs and information, and then sat and read the edited stories over and over again.
This wasn't just a book she wanted to write. It became something she was genuinely passionate about.
A book where children could see themselves.
A book where a child could read about someone who experiences the world like they do and think, “I'm not the only one.”
And a book where other children could learn that being different is something to understand, accept and celebrate.
Indie started this journey with a simple idea:
Every child is different — and that is what makes them amazing.
