    Thank you all for donating to support Mattie. Just to provide some clarification regarding a couple of points on the page, specifically that Mattie was transported to hospital from the scene and may not have been found in the Avon River (he was told this however cannot recall this) and it is yet to be determined if the attack was unprovoked or not.

    In light of this, should you wish to receive a refund please get in touch with us by 5pm Monday 8th November 2021.

    Thank you so much this is more than we ever hoped for

    We will be looking into placing into a legal trust so everyone can know that the donations are being used for what they have been made for ♡

      I am not going to judge him for what he has done, it might be interesting for him that people can understand his need for help in spite of his history.

    I'm just wanting to let everyone know that Mattie is reading each and every comment and he is so overwhelmed with the amount of love and kindness from everyone

    He is doing ok so days are a bit rougher than others

    But the messages from everyone means so much

    Mattie has stressed the importance that everyone gets thanked individually which I whole heartily agree

    So I'm slowly getting through everyone but just wanted to put a wee update to express how much all of this means to Mattie and he is so shocked that so many people want to help and that so many people care

    Thank you everyone for your kindness and generosity!

    In my mind I wanted to raise at least $500 for him and his family and it's already surpassed that!

    I will make sure that I comment to everyone that has made a donation, as well as write down each of your messages for Mattie, so then he can read them when he is feeling low, angry, numb or frustrated and every other emotion in between.

    After something so horrible its reassuring that there are still kind people out there.

    Absolutely everything you have all donated and your kind loving messages will help him and his family greatly!

      You have been a blessing to Matt and I pray that far more will come from this than you can imagine.

      I trust his offender will be truly remorseful for this act.

      I was utterly shocked to read about the circumstances surrounding how you ended up with such horrific injuries and all because you were showing kindness towards another! There are not enough compassionate people in this world...you have a gracious heart! I wish you a speedy recovery. It's a privilege and an honour to be able to give you back some of the aroha you have shown..thank you....now it's your turn to be the recipient of some kindness.
