Amanda’s Fight Against Cancer!

Talofa Lava, my name is Ray Parker I am the brother of Amanda Laurel Jeans. I am one of 8 siblings I am the middle child consisting of four girls and four boys and grew up in Mangere with a big Samoan family.

Three weeks ago, our lives changed. We had a family meeting that was held on FaceTime with my 8 siblings and it was called by my older sister Amanda.

Amanda is a mother to 19year old son Karel, Step son Kristian 12 years old and 6-year-old daughter Velvet. She is married to my awesome bro - in law Kane Jeans.

Amanda called the meeting and announced to all of us siblings that she was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer ' gastric adenocarcinoma' which is a critical status and was told that it was incurable. But she is a fighter my sis and we as a family are looking at a second opinion and other potential treatments that will help fight this cancer!!!

My sister was misdiagnosed in November 2020 (after 3 visits and a visit to Christchurch hospital it still wasn't picked up) when she was suffering pains in her stomach, it was brushed off as Constipation and Nausea. She was sent home to rest. Due to this error her 6-year-old daughter and sons will grow up without their Mum! Her son will not be able to celebrate his 21st next year with his Mum if we don't get to raise the necessary funds for her private treatment.

This is new to me , I have never done anything like this before but i do this because I love my sister. My family and I are not ready to lose her and will do everything in our power and control to avoid that at all costs.

All the proceeds will go towards her private treatments, which is Keytruda - Immunotherapy, and if unsuccessful we will be putting rest of funds towards her going to Thailand for Integrative Treatment which alone is 40k USD. Any surplus if reached well and over will go to daily living, other bills as Amanda will not be working and also her husband Kane will be taking time off to look after her. I do not want my sister and brother in law selling their home they worked so hard for. I think this will help take some stress and financial burden off her and her family. We are looking to fund as much as we can. Whatever we end up receiving we will be forever grateful for your heartfelt gifts and donations.
