Amelia’s Journey, Support during rare- high risk brain surgery
Stratford, Taranaki
Amelia is preparing for a craniotomy to remove a rare papillary tumour in the pineal region of her brain. Diagnosed at age 10 after headaches and eye pain, Amelia has undergone a "watch and wait" strategy with regular monitoring. Recent scans indicate tumour growth, prompting her surgical team to recommend surgery. This high-risk operation presents challenges due to the tumour's location near critical neurological structures. The family faces significant financial burdens related to travel, hospital stays, and daily living costs during treatment. They are raising funds to ease these pressures and ensure they can focus on Amelia. Support received has been crucial during their challenging journey.
I am Sheri-Lee, Amelia’s Aunty , Courtney Neil’s (Amelia’s mum) big sister - and sister in Law to Mac Neil (Amelia’s dad )
We are raising funds to help ease the financial pressure of travel, daily hospital costs, and the unexpected expenses that come with Amelia’s surgery and recovery.
Any additional support will continue to help with ongoing appointments and recovery needs
