Aml's fresh start from Gaza to New Zealand

Hi everyone,

I'm Aml and life has taken an unexpected turn for my family and I. We recently faced the harsh realities of war in Gaza, a place we once called home. With heavy hearts, we made the decision to leave who and what we know, and seek refuge in New Zealand for a fresh start and a peaceful future.

I am a wife and a mother to four incredible children who have shown incredible resilience in the face of adversity. The war not only claimed our possessions but also the lives of dear friends and family members, my children have lost their best friends and many of the role models in their lives.

The miracle of coming to New Zealand came at a cost, both emotionally and financially. To secure our escape, I took a loan of $20,250 from the New Zealand government to cover the expenses of our relocation which I must pay back ASAP.

My husband and I are both engineers, however, he cannot work in New Zealand until he learns English and gets his qualifications recognised. For this reason, any support from your generosity and kindness can make a significant impact.

We have heard a lot about the supportive and diverse culture in New Zealand and look forward to contributing and being part of this community. Your support, whether big or small, will be a beacon of hope for our family as we strive to create a stable and secure future.
